• Kedarkantha Peak Trek

Kedarkantha Peak is a stunning trekking destination in the Himalayas, offering a perfect blend of scenic beauty, thrilling trails, and breathtaking summit views. Ideal for beginners and experienced trekkers, the trek covers picturesque landscapes, dense pine forests, serene lakes, and the majestic peaks of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Sankri

  • Altitude: 6,400 feet
  • Distance: 220 km drive from Dehradun (approx. 10 hours)
  • Trekkers are picked up from Dehradun at 6:30 AM. Expected arrival at Sankri by 5:00 PM.

Day 2: Sankri to Juda-ka-Talab

  • Altitude: 6,400 feet to 9,100 feet
  • Distance: 4 km trek (approx. 5 hours)
  • The trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, and streams before opening into meadows. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Juda-ka-Talab to Kedarkantha Base

  • Altitude: 9,100 feet to 11,250 feet
  • Distance: 4 km trek (approx. 2.5 hours)
  • The trail runs along a ridge under oak trees and through meadows with shepherd huts.
  • Views of Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana peaks. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Kedarkantha Base to Kedarkantha Peak; descend to Hargaon Camp

  • Altitude: 11,250 feet to 12,500 feet to 8,900 feet
  • Distance: 6 km trek (approx. 7 hours)
  • Reach the summit for spectacular views, return to base camp for lunch, and descend to Hargaon by evening. Overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Hargaon Camp to Sankri

  • Altitude: 8,900 feet to 6,400 feet
  • Distance: 6 km trek (approx. 4 hours)
  • Descend 2,500 feet through dense pine forests.

Day 6: Departure Day (Sankri to Dehradun)

  • Distance: 220 km drive (approx. 10 hours)
  • Drive back to Dehradun.

Who Can Go

  • Beginners with an interest in trekking and mountaineering.
  • Participants must be physically fit with the stamina to cover 5 km in 45 minutes.
  • Should be able to carry a 10 kg backpack.
  • Not suitable for individuals with heart problems, high blood pressure, asthma, or epilepsy.
